Rockville, Maryland

Rockville is the county seat of Montgomery County,. According to the 2007 census update, the city had a total population of 58,706, making it the third largest city in Maryland.
  Rockville is a suburb 12 miles North West of Washington, D.C.  Rockville was settled in the 1760s, and was incorporated as a city in 1860. Rockville has several scientific research and technology laboratories that focus on the aerospace, electronics, nuclear energy, and communications industries. Rockville is home to the largest Biotech corridor in the US.  The Food and Drug Administration is in Rockville, as is the main campus of Montgomery College.
  F. Scott Fitzgerald and his wife, Zelda, are buried in a local cemetery.  Rockville is home to Rock Creek Park, Lake Needwood and Cabin John Regional Park.

 Rockville's commercial center was razed in the early 1970s to make way for a shopping center, but in the early 2000s the city sought to restore the downtown center by building the mixed-use Rockville Town Square on the site.  The Town Square Plaza, located between Maryland Avenue and Gibbs Street, has become a popular gathering spot for families and friends, and the hot spot for community events, festivals and concerts. A fountain that sprays water in Town Square has become a delight for children, and the pavilion houses the stage in Town Square. The town square is surrounded by local hip restaurants where visitors can sit out under the moon light on a warm summer night.

Rockville has also been recognized by Money Magazine as number 66 in its “Best Places to Live 2008.” Cities are ranked based on a variety of factors including housing, education, quality of life, leisure, culture and other demographics.

Since Town Square opened in July 2007, residents and visitors have enjoyed the pedestrian-friendly streets and plaza, eaten at the many restaurants, shopped at the stores and visited the Rockville Library.
